POKER LESSONS

Tutoring isn't really the right word either. I believe for a person to truly learn poker, a process of self-discovery must take place. Great players are empowered by knowledge and creative thought, not memorization and regurgitation. I can't "tell" you how to win at poker. I believe I can help a person find and discover and embrace important strategies, concepts and tactics that will lead someone to be a strong, solid, tough player. But, just because I can tell a person not to bet a million dollars on a pair of twos, that doesn't mean they won't go ahead and bet the twos anyway. Players have to learn to think, and do, for themselves.

Poker Lessons For Beginners :

Draw Poker is the basic form of poker and the best way to start when you're learning the game. Poker has evolved into endless variations but Draw Poker is where it all began.

In Draw Poker, the player builds a hand from five cards. After the initial betting round, the player may discard some or all of their cards and get replacements.

During the course of the game, all cards are discarded and dealt face down. The cards are never revealed until the showdown.

A round of poker begins by determining the dealer. Players will pay the “ante” , a small, flat fee that goes into the center of the table. These collective ante is called the “pot” .

Once a dealer is chosen, he will deal each player, starting from his right, five cards each face down and the betting rounds start.

Whoever has the best hand at the end of the betting wins and claims the pot. If only one players remains at the end, there is no showdown and the player will win without the need to show his cards.
